This depends on how intensively you use your darts and the quality of the dartboard you play on. If you often throw on a lower-quality dartboard, your points will wear out faster. Additionally, on such boards, you often experience more bouncers, which causes your darts (barrels) and points to become damaged or worn more quickly.
Especially with darts that have a paint coating, this coating can wear off quite quickly because the darts regularly hit each other.
Furthermore, darts made of brass will wear out faster than darts made of tungsten, because tungsten is a much tougher material. This makes tungsten darts more expensive, but ultimately also more durable. In contrast to brass darts, which are cheaper but therefore also need to be replaced more often.
By regularly replacing the points of your darts, you can generally keep playing with your darts for a long time. However, many dart players replace their darts regularly. This is because new darts often have more grip and because many players find it interesting to try out new equipment.
