Did you take your new set of steel tip darts for a spin, and did one of the tips break off upon impact or due to a bounce-back/fall from the board?
Unfortunately, this is quite a common occurrence, as dart tips can break at any time, even after a first-time use. For this reason, we always recommend using a soft-surface area to throw over, which can be accomplished by the proper use of a dart mat or dart carpet.
Although this won't guarantee your darts to never break upon impact with the surface, it has proven to reduce the chances of your darts breaking by a significantly high amount. Darts in general are fragile items, consisting of several parts that can break and are commonly considered as utensils (apart from the actual barrel (grip part).
Because of this, we also recommend getting additional spare parts (like dart tips and shafts) that can be interchanged on a regular basis. In case you are using Swiss Point darts (also known as SP darts), which can also break easily on impact due to their specific groove rings, the broken piece that is stuck in the barrel can easily be screwed out due to their threading system which does not require a re-pointing tool.
Of course, we completely understand that your dart tips breaking may come as a surprising inconvenience. For this reason, you can always contact our customer support team in case this issue occurs.
Our support agents are able to assess the damage and perhaps offer a resolution. Just make sure to provide us with a photo that clearly shows the damage, and provide us with additional information on how they broke.
We are always open to provide you with useful tips as to how to improve your dart setup.
